In this course we will study the life of our Blessed Lord, Jesus Christ, through the Gospels. To understand the New Testament is to under the life of our Lord. Attention will be paid to understanding the Scriptures in connection with the Church's teachings in various catechisms, in connection with the liturgical year, and through various prayers and devotions. Learning the New Testament is not just an intellectual exercise. It is an exercise in prayer. This course is above all a course in living out the New Testament and going deeper to understand its true meaning. By using the catechisms, the "Life of Christ" by Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen, and the teachings of the Church Fathers and Supreme Pontiffs, we will understand the person of Jesus Christ. And by understanding Christ, the source of all life and truth, we will learn how to imitate His most holy life and thus lead a holy, pleasing life.
