When God sent a flood to wash away the evils form the Earth, He had Noah and his family build an ark. An ark is a very large boat. God wanted Noah to take animals with him to save them from the flood. He had Noah build the ark big enough for all of the animals, and his family, to fit. Noah didn’t understand why God was asking him to build it so big, but he listened and obeyed God anyway. After Noah was finished building the ark, he was saved from the flood because he obeyed God.

“Make thee an ark of timber planks: thou shalt make little rooms in the ark, and thou shalt pitch it within and without. And thus shalt thou make it: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits: the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.”  Genesis 6:14-15
