As Catholic boys and girls, it is important to pray every day. Prayer is how we talk to Jesus and become His friend. Even though He is God, Jesus prayed a lot in His life. He prayed for others, and He prayed for courage and strength to do the right thing even though He was scared. Jesus also made sure to teach us how to pray when He was on Earth. He gave us the Our Father prayer. When boys and girls are at prayer, they should follow Jesus’ example:

“Thus therefore shall you pray: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our supersubstantial bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation. But deliver us from evil. Amen.”  Matthew 6:9-13
